Okay, so here goes:
I think, as a general rule, that everyone struggles from time to time with a lack of motivation. I think that we also often handle our time ineffectively or inefficiently. Maybe even irresponsibly. In my house, I do know that the three of us - Hubby, Kiddo and I - all do. We put things aside that could be taken care of right away - until they wind up morphing into what I personally perceive as a huge obstacle. Now, as we all have this struggle, it has been becoming increasingly more obvious that this is a huge battle for Kiddo. Not to mention that we are not (*insert blush and shameful expression here*) the best examples for him at this time. This is something that Hubby and I certainly want to improve upon, yet it seems such an insurmountable obstacle that we just don't even know where to start.
This is where you come in. God has filled my mind today with some ideas that give me fresh hope. However, as His Word is so filled with wonderful bits of scripture to encourage and guide us, I became very overwhelmed when I looked to it for a sampling of those scriptures. I would love to know what verses you are reminded of as you go through your day - verses specifically relating to time management and/or using time wisely and appropriately. Our desires as a family are very similar in that we don't want to waste the precious time God grants us - we all want to use that time to glorify God. That said, I am ashamed to say that we are not fulfilling that calling very well right now.
Time seems ever more precious - and even fleeting - to our family right now as we have learned that my Father-in-law's twin brother has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Going on two years ago this fall, my FIL had his prostate removed. Praise God that through that surgery all the cancer was removed from his body as well. He has received a clean bill of health and a renewed sense of purpose since then. His brother, however, is not as assertive and therefore when my FIL was concerned, his brother was not convinced enough to push his doctor for more answers. This means that his brother has had cancer indicators for quite some time, but his doctor just blew them off and told him it was nothing to worry about. My FIL's doctor, though, when he had similar results a few years ago told him that it was a huge deal. Prostate cancer is most easily treated when it is diagnosed early. Please pray that God will handle this situation with the same peace and comfort He did for us a few years ago. I know that this is going to be a new kind of difficult for our family and I plan to be just as available as I was when it was happening to my FIL.
I have to go now. It's time to pick up Hubby who cannot currently drive as he was diagnosed Monday with vertigo. This is a challenge, but God has blessed us with options to make it a bit easier. At least I don't have to chauffeur Hubby all day long - though I would if the situation called for that! God is good and is working all of this out for our good...He has a plan so much bigger and better than mine!
Looking forward to reading your verse suggestions - love and blessings to you!

Have you ever done the Proverbs series (Beth Moore) "Wising Up?" I borrowed it from a friend and it's going to be our next study at church this fall. I've been watching the dvd's and love it. It is so practical.
I'm only on #4, but have already been reminded of so many great truths out of Proverbs.
I'm keeping you & your family in my prayers.
By the way.....I can't remember if I told you but my daughter will find out the sex of the baby on May 27!
I can't wait to find out. Either way....we are super excited to have our first grand baby enter this world.
Love ya! Take care.
