New Urgent Prayer Request!

Okay, I know I have not had time to create a real post and I promise that I will soon, however I have a huge favor! I have been taking ovulation predictors and they test for a hormone surge called "lh" and I have gotten my first positive test result. Please pray that if we are in God's will that I will conceive this month and will soon be carrying a healthy baby. This feels like a humongous first step toward having a baby and I am so excited...however I know that after no pregnancy in the last 8+ years there is a possibility it still won't happen. I have been learning so much lately about myself and my loving God and I believe He both knows the desires of my heart and also that He wants me to have them. That being said, I have felt lately that there is something He wants me to learn first...please pray that I will learn whatever He is trying to teach me. My God is good (ALL the time) and He is Sovereign - I cannot BEGIN to know what He knows...but sometimes the road i...

Update on Chuy...

Chuy is doing MUCH better today - thank you for your prayers for my sanity, our finances and Chuy's condition. It appears to have been a severe reaction to the anesthesia or something. I'll spare you all the gory details - trust me here - but he is perking up and eating. Both of those things indicate that he does NOT have parvo. To tell you the truth, I'm not certain that God didn't perform a miracle and heal Chuy of what actually might have been parvo. Again I will spare you the details but there was much blood involved and there is now none. I am reminded of God's goodness to all of his creatures - and know that if he can heal Chuy of parvo, He can in fact provide me with the second child that I desire. (A little off topic, I know, but it's always on MY mind it seems!) Now I've gotta take that ovulation test...sorry. Was that too much information? :o) Be well and be blessed...I will post again soon - my kitchen is getting cleaner! Maybe I can actually get ...

Poor Chuy...

I have only a minute... It seems that our poor Chuy may possibly have contracted parvo - an even nastier strain than the typical one. With our pocketbook already being strained due to allergy shots for Kiddo and Hubby's MRI, I'm afraid that are not going to do well. Please pray for God's provisions and also for Chuy to be feeling better and that this is NOT parvo. He got fixed Monday and didn't have any problems until late last night. This is why they are concerned that it might be this nasty stuff. I've gotta go and make sure that he is okay...but I fear that Kiddo won't do very well should this get serious. Thank you and I'll post again soon.

Did You Notice A Little Change? :o)

*NOTE: Sorry if it all seems to run together - I am having some issue with Blogger that won't allow me to separate into paragraphs anything after my picture...oh well. My perfectionism is rearing it's ugly head and I'm going to let it go now...:o)* I am SO proud of myself. My friend Traci gave me the really cute header that I used for a week or so and also taught me how to change it. I had some extra time the other day and I made my own header...and then I changed my background to go with it. There is still some more I want to do, but this is a great start. (Thanks for the tutorial Traci! You're AWESOME! :o) AND... If you have been waiting for a new picture of my haircut, here it is! I don't really know if it short enough, but I'm not growing it out anymore so I can just get it right next time. This is good for now! I really don't feel good with long hair as I never can do anything with it. It is just so fine, it slips out of ponytails and braids so I wind ...

Happy Birthday, Mother-in-Law!

My mother-in-law cracks me up! Really...she does. And today is her birthday. I don't think she would mind in the least me telling you that today ME (her signature and initials) is fifty-six years old. She doesn't mind me telling you because the more people who know, the longer her birthday celebration is likely to last. She can easily stretch her birthday out for two weeks...I think her goal is the entire month of February. :o) One friend takes her to lunch this day, two boys that like to do something for their mom, another friend brings her a little treat, cards from friends and family, dinner out from her husband, my father-in-law...I really should take lessons from her! :o) I am blessed to have married into such a wonderful family. We have our struggles, too, don't get me wrong, but I really love these people that have come to share so much in sorrow and joy with me. I really doubted that I would ever be a part of a functional family and I am so glad to say that I truly ...

My Love Story...

I'm sharing my love story in Kelly's Korner's "Show Us Your Life" series...see the end of the post for an update! I am taking part in Heavenly Homemakers' Share Your Love Story . I thought it would be lots of fun to let you all know how Hubby and I got together. Here goes: I met my husband in (we think) 8 th grade on the bus. Some kids started picking on him and I didn't like it. He was a VERY quiet, shy, super-skinny guy and he'd never done anything to them! :o) My friends backed me up and he and I just started talking. He was a really nice guy and we became fast friends. Once I was old enough to drive we didn't see much of each other, but every now and again at school we could chat. We had known each other for three years before I knew he had a crush on me. (Okay, so I was pretty sure, but when Ashley threatened to tell me if HE didn't it was certain. He gathered up his nerve and told me that he liked me...with Ashley in the back seat of...

It's a Lazy Day Today...

Well Kiddo woke up this morning and said that he was feeling "icky"...he also said that THAT was the only way to describe it - he is so my child! :o) He was very upset with me at first, but I explained to him that if he felt that bad he certainly didn't need to go to Tuesday Morning Bible Study and make others sick...so we have lounged around the house in PJ's today! It has been a relatively nice change from the hustle and bustle of our previously scheduled week - and Kiddo is feeling better, thank you all for your concern (because I KNOW you were, that is why you are all so great! :o) - so we'll just take it and veg out all day long! We are a little disturbed by Hubby's MRI results - we KNOW there is something wrong there and they came back normal...it is so frustrating. He has nearly constant pain, but since they haven't found anything he will likely be seeing a physical therapist soon. It is most frustrating to Hubby because Kiddo has had this outrageou...
