This week has been busy DESPITE the weather here in Oklahoma. And WOW! has it been COLD! Okay...I'll catch you up on my week now.
Friday's Ladies Game Night was a BLAST! Mrs. Pink and I couldn't decide where to sit (we have friends in nearly every age group thanks to our wonderful Heart-to-Heart mentoring program from last year - that we STILL miss terribly!) and so we decided we would sit by ourselves and just visit instead of playing games at the beginning. In fact, we talked until 8:30pm when we were invited into a game of Skip-Bo...which was SO much fun.
Saturday was a busy day spent preparing for the evening baby shower for Hope Pregnancy Center. I arrived at the church around 4pm (Mr. Pink let us in) and Hubby helped while Kiddo played with the Pink kids. Mr. Pink picked up Mrs. Pink when she got off of work and then the guys took the kids to figure out dinner while Mrs. Pink and her teen daughter worked with me on getting the Fellowship Hall prepared. It was getting REALLY cold and we didn't think we would have a lot of people, but we already had donations coming in from all departments within the church! It was wonderful! We had two (2) people show up for the shower (NOT joking!) and several people dropped by long enough to drop off donations and head out...we managed to get them to take food with them. :o)

My cupcake quilt...as simple as possible, but still pretty cute, I think...
The prize table...we had lots of goodies for people to win!
Look at all this FOOD! Mrs. Pink made Ranch Spinach Dip (YUM! Even picky Kiddo
loved it and Hubby said he might eat it again!); a vegetable tray with ranch dressing; chips and salsa...I made the punch; the cupcake quilt; lil' pigs in a blanket; guacamole and fruit salad. SO much food!
This is what we started with...before anyone even came we had already nearly
filled a table with goodies!
Sunday was another wonderful day in the House of the Lord! My oh MY how I love my church and all the people in it! I feel energized every time I get to go...which thankfully is often!
Monday we went to get Kiddo's shots again. Great report - it was quite uneventful...just how we like it! :o) THEN...by the time we LEFT the doctor's office the roads were COVERED in ice. EVERYWHERE. There were no slick SPOTS let me tell you! It took nearly one hour to get home and it takes normally about 15 minutes. Mrs. Pink and I were supposed to take the donations to Hope Pregnancy Center but with the roads getting slicker by the minute, we put it off until Wednesday. Kiddo and I got home and stayed home! Where it was warm and DRY!
Tuesday our Esther study was canceled due to the weather so we stayed home - again - and tried to stay warm and dry...boy did I miss the girls, though! And Kiddo was really missing the other kids, too. But we were glad to have a warm(er) home to keep us sheltered and protected. (Thank you, God.)
Wednesday we did a lot of the same...stayed home to keep warm. We had to cancel taking the donations to Hope again due to the weather...we're planning on Friday - if school is back in session. We did get out for a few in the evening, though...and church had been canceled so we just drove around a bit to get out of the house and went home. I was REALLY missing my church family at THIS point, but I thought SURELY we'll have school tomorrow so NOVO will be on...so Kiddo and I got stuff for my lesson as I was planning to be a substitute for the next two weeks. Then...
Thursday the schools were canceled again. (Yes, that is today, by the way. :o) The roads aren't too bad though, so Kiddo and I went out to get his shots done and had no problem getting in or out and we came straight home. After lunch with Hubby - leftovers in case your wondering...we had homemade chili left over from the other day - I got a message from a friend. I've been checking in all week as I know they don't have transport and she is stuck with all three of her kids at home! (I know - the woman's a SAINT! :o) She's really been having a pretty good time but we needed to get together and chat so I offered to pick up her favorite drink (Diet Coke from Sonic) and stop by for a visit...then the kids could play together.
Tomorrow Hubby has his MRI for his shoulder, and in the afternoon we are hopeful that Mrs. Pink and I will get all the goods donated to Hope. Please pray that the schools are in session because I don't have room for both of us and all of the kids! My vehicle is full and I really need to get the (probably frozen) baby goods out of there before someone decides they need them more than HOPE. Oh I would just be SICK if that happened!
Saturday (and now Sunday I am just learning) Hubby has to work. It is rare, but it happens occasionally and it is frustrating every time. Oh well...at least he can pay the bills next month. :o) Maybe we'll have a little extra for some good Valentine's Day plans! LOL!
Anyway, we have some dinner plans with the Pinks, so I'm gonna go. Be well and be blessed and I will post again next week!

Our schools have been out all week.....that makes 7 days so far this school year. They are talking about making them up during SPRING BREAK....which of course doesn't matter to us....since we homeschool. It does matter to my husband, since we are always at the OKC stockshow during spring break....and his students would have to miss school to go.....I don't know, we'll see.
I can handle a little snow, but that ice is tough.
The shower looked great. There was so much good food. Sorry there weren't more people there.
I'll be anxious to hear how your husband's MRI turns out.
Have a good week!
Valerie
Hope your husband's MRI turns out good and whatever is wrong can be taken care of easily.
Your quilt cake was so cute! Sorry so few people showed after all your hard work.
And . . Mrs. Pink -- I need one of those! She sounds awesome. Is she human? lol!
